talking in pictures

January 10, 2013

i’ve been friends with rich griswold long before we had smartphones, but our relationship took a turn once we started talking on these things… using images and nothing else.  our smart-ass comebacks, dialogues and conversation clusters are now on display at the narrows center for the arts through the end of the month.  we hope you’ll join us for a closing reception in the afternoon on february 3rd, between 1&4pm.

for the love of john

May 13, 2011

what john oates didn’t know about liz linder photography is that (rock star) associate photographer mary flatley has been programming our studio playlist for years now, such that we all hum along to hall & oates while working the days away.  as the story goes, mary was listening to ’she’s gone’ the morning a colleague sought her out for a spec shoot at berklee college of music, where john was leading a masterclass on songwriting & the music biz.  she practically jumped at the chance, and the shot that ran in the phoenix captured his eye – he seems to love it as much as we love hall & oates (take a peek and see for yourselves – we think it’s one of the best recent shots out there).  way to go, mary!

how about now martha?

April 21, 2011

we like to think we have good karma.  in the fall of ‘09 we turned down martha stewart (yes, THE Martha stewart). when the magazine asked to feature a wedding we shot in their fine pages, we turned them down, having already agreeing to publish the wedding in a smaller, local publication.

so, we were thrilled to find that we had two images published this month in two top magazines in their respective fields, martha stewart weddings and photo district news.  check out the spreads below and see the full post featuring the sparkler image here.
